Potential superstar Keep the Faith is among the entries for Saturday's $100,500 Vain Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

The Tony McEvoy prepared son of Sunday Silence sent Australian racegoers into a spin last season when he scored a brilliant win at his only run in Adelaide in April.

Sent out a 2/1 on favourite in that event the $1.2 million yearling purchase for Darley accelerated in the straight to cruise past Pinchbeck and win going away ears pricked by four lengths.

The three-year-old colt is being ultimately aimed at the Group One Caulfield Guineas in October and the Vain has always been the kick off race for the exciting youngster.

In his Cheltenham win Keep the Faith cruised over the turf in 57.04 seconds for the 1000 metre trip. The last 600 metres in the race was carved out in a blistering 33.46 seconds.

Other nominations for the Vain Stakes include the last start Sandown winner (and conqueror of Keep the Faith's highly regarded stablemate San Simeon) Snip Attack and last spring's two-year-old stakes winner Scaredee Cat.

Capable locals Fresh Boy and Happy Strike are also among the 14 nominations.
