Victoria’s dynamic young jockeys Nicholas Ryan and Blake Shinn
will attempt to create history if they become the
first apprentice to win Victoria’s coveted Scobie Breasley
Medal.
The vote count for the Scobie Breasley Medal, proudly sponsored
by Telstra, for Victoria’s outstanding jockey, will be
part of a gala evening at Crown’s Palladium on Sunday.
The two star young jockeys are part of the celebration of
racing’s heroes alongside Damien Oliver, Danny Nikolic
and Greg Childs, as well as the rest of Victoria’s talented
jockeys.
The other feature on a big night of awards will be the Fred
Hoysted Award, proudly sponsored by Telstra, for
Victoria’s outstanding training performance and the VBA
Tommy Corrigan Medal, for the best jumps jockey of the 2004-2005 season.
Other awards are the VJA Victorian Outstanding Apprentice in
Training Award; Victoria’s premiership winning jockey
and trainer; the VRC Bert Wolfe Media Award and the
presentation of the Emirates Airline Racing Personality of the Year Award.
The entertainment on the evening will feature some of
Australia’s best performers paying tribute to our
Racing Heroes.
