Black Minnaloushe Heads Windsor Park Fees
Boom New Zealand first-season sire Black Minnaloushe (USA) (Storm Cat x Coral Dance by Green Dancer) will stand at a fee of $17,500 plus gst this year.

Boom sire Black Minnaloushe (USA) is set to stand at Windsor Park Stud in Cambridge for $17,500 + gst in 2006.

Windsor Park Stud today announced Black Minnaloushe's fee along with the 2006 fees for their eight other stallions.

Black Minnaloushe has been the only first-season sire in Australasia this season to sire a Group 1 winner.

New Zealand champion two-year-old elect Jokers Wild (NZ) (Black Minnaloushe x Miss Rory by Rory's Jester) was successful twice at Group 1 level in the current season, in the Ford Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Ellerslie and in the Ford Manawatu Sires' Produce Stakes (1400m) at Awapuni.

Black Minnaloushe is the leading first-season sire to date in New Zealand with progeny earnings of $273,975.

Besides Jokers Wild, Black Minnaloushe has had three other stakes performers in Australasia this season, namely Australian Group 3 runner up Changing Eyes (NZ); New Zealand Group 3 placegetter Shortblackmini (NZ) and New Zealand Listed race runner-up Cadre Noir (NZ).

Black Minnaloushe also struck success with his first runner in Hong Kong when Butterfield (NZ) impressed many good judges with his debut-winning performance a couple of weeks ago.

Black Minnaloushe is the sire of 30 individual winners worldwide from his first crop and his southern hemisphere yearlings have sold for up to $A 300,000.

Champion Sire Volksraad (GB) (Green Desert x Celtic Assembly by Secretariat), who is challenging for his fifth straight New Zealand Sires Premiership title this season, will stand again at a fee of $22,000 plus gst.

Volksraad is currently only $12,288 in arrears of Pentire on the 2005-06 New Zealand General sires' premiership after closing the gap rapidly in the past month.

Volksraad has had more winners (52), races won (86) and stakes winners (6) than any other sire in New Zealand this season.

Back-to-back Breeders' Cup Turf winner and dual Eclipse Award winner High Chaparral (IRE) (Sadler's Wells x Kasora by Darshaan) will stand again for $22,000 plus gst after covering an outstanding first book of mares at Windsor Park in 2005.

Dual Gr.1 English classic winner Golan (IRE) (Spectrum x Highland Gift by Generous) will stand for $7500 plus gst this season. Golan's first southern hemisphere yearlings sold for up $130,000 at Karaka this year.

Australian Group 1 winner and unbeaten 2yo Thorn Park (AUS) (Spinning World x Joy by Bluebird), who has been fully booked in his first two years at stud, will stand for $15,000 plus gst.

New Zealand Horse Of The Year and multiple Group1 winner King's Chapel (King of Kings x Lower Chapel by Sharpo) , who served over 100 mares in his first season at stud in 2005, will again be available to breeder's for a fee of $7500 plus gst.

Perennial leading sire Kaapstad (NZ) (Sir Tristram x Eight Carat by Pieces of Eight) sire of 43 stakes winners to date - including 7 at Group 1 level, will stand for $12,000 plus gst.

Casual Lies (USA) (Lear Fan x Morna by Blakeney), the sire of Saturday's Gr. 2 Travis Stakes winner Kew (NZ) and sire of 12 stakes winners in total, will stand for $5000 plus gst.

Champion sire Star Way (GB) (Star Appeal x New Way by Klairon), who is approaching his 26th season at stud and who sired his 60th stakes winner this season, these days covers a restricted book of mares.

The Windsor Park Stud stallion roster with their service fees is:-
