I couldn't believe it and had to look twice - but I'm told it's true. Surely renaming will be ordered - and the sooner the better I think.

I was casting my eye over some progeny of the talented Eliza Park stallion Black Hawk and was left wondering "what the" when I saw the name of one of his unraced two-year-olds.

The filly in question was purchased at the Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale last year by the team from Redgum Racing and is being preparing by Hollow Bullet's trainer John McArdle.

Let's hope our naming police are reading this site!

The filly's name is Wooden Swallow. Say it a few times - you'll work it out.
