Racing Victoria Limited (RVL) Chief Executive Officer Stephen Allanson today announced the appointment of Leigh Jordon to the role of Director of Racing Operations with RVL.

The appointment follows a four-month stint as Acting Director of Racing Operations since April.

Jordon, 43, has worked in the racing industry for nearly 20 years, since taking up the position of Manager – VOBIS/Super VOBIS with the Victoria Racing Club in February 1987.

In that time he has performed various roles in racing administration including Manager – Industry Incentives, Manager – Racing Operations, Acting General Manager of Racing and General Manager of Racing and International Operations until taking over as Acting Director of Racing Operations.

Allanson said Jordon’s resume was hard to overlook.

“Leigh’s vast extensive experience in the racing industry in Australia and more recently on the international front placed him in very good stead.

“He has handled the interim role very well and without doubt has the capability, skills and knowledge to lead the area well into the future,” Allanson said.
