Absolut GlamAfter a series of chequered runs in the Spring which robbed her of stakes success, Absolut Glam advanced from Listed to Group 2 class when she won the Hollylodge Thoroughbreds Classic at Moonee Valley this afternoon.

Absolut Glam's second stakes win in succession was greatly aided by jockey Steven King who kept her out of trouble racing outside horses, just as he did when she won the Kevin Hayes Stakes at Caulfield three weeks ago.

Steven KingKing complimented his mount's temperament, saying: "She's just a pet."

"It was a good result today because she's got a lot of improvement left in her."

"The main thing is to give her room and give her some confidence."

Starting a warm favourite at $2.50, the Snowland filly powered away in the straight to win by 1½ lengths from Miss Marielle ($7.00-$9.00) with 1¼ lengths to Arapaho Miss ($6.00-$8.50).

"What she did in the Spring was terrific for a filly that started in a Maiden at Seymour in August and probably should have won a bigger race in the Spring than she ended up with", said trainer Danny O'Brien.

Danny O'Brien"She's definitely improved and I think there's more improvement to come."

O'Brien has more stakes races planned for Absolut Glam, but rather than today's opposition, he is wary of her stablemate Pleasant Sunday Girl and the David Hayes trained Musidora, winner of the Vanity at Flemington recently.

"There's not much between her and Pleasant Sunday Girl so we're lucky to have a couple of them heading in the right direction", he said.

While the $300,000 Group 2 Chubb Kewney Stakes over 1600m at Flemington on the 8th of March looks a logical target for Absolut Glam, O'Brien warned that he might be looking elsewhere.

Absolut Glam"We may run in the three year old Magic Millions race in Adelaide", he said.

The $200,000 RM Williams Magic Millions Adelaide 3YO Classic is run at Morphettville on March 12th.

O'Brien suggested that Absolut Glam may then stay in Adelaide for the Australasian Oaks.

Absolut Glam was purchased by Danny O'Brien for $150,000 from the Widden Stud draft at the 2006 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. She is raced by a syndicate of O'Brien stable clients.

Pine Away, the imported American dam of Absolut Glam, is a half sister to Group 3 winner Moonflute. Other stakes horses in the family include third dam Tempest Moon and fourth dam Moontee, both Group 3 winners.
