A stakes victory is the priority for talented filly Bold Moment after her strong first up win in the Flemington Festival of Racing 1000 (1000m) today.

Already stakes placed twice at Flemington and Sandown during last year's Spring Carnival, Bold Moment is as it stands a stakes race maiden.

But judging by the authority of her first up victory today, in which she wore blinkers for the first time, it shouldn't be too long before Bold Moment elevated her name to the big bold print on pedigree pages.

"She's a lightly raced filly," O'Brien said. "She's never put a foot wrong."

"We put the blinkers on her today knowing that it was a 1000 (metres). And when she got through she really went strong."

Bold Moment will almost certainly be stepped up to 1200 metres for her next start.

"You'd say so. She did run third in a 1400 last campaign during the spring."

A trip to either Adelaide or Sydney over the next few weeks could be on the cards as connections chase the important stakes race victory.

"That is the plan - to win a black type race as a three-year-old would help her as a broodmare," O'Brien commented.

"There is a race in Adelaide for her in about a month and there is also Sydney coming up as well," he added.

Bold Moment ($3.20-$3.50-$3.20 fav) got home by a half length to beat Listen Here ($6-$8).

Third home in a competitive finish was Dance on Air ($4-$4.60), another three parts of a length back.

Bold Moment is the only winner to date, from two to race, for the triple stakes winning Redding mare Flushed.

Trained during her career by Ken Keys, Flushed won the Group Two Sunline Stakes at Moonee Valley as well as both the Group Three Matriarch Stakes and listed Let's Elope Stakes at Flemington.

Purchased for $60,000 by O'Brien from the draft of Paringa Park (as agent) at the 2006 Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, Bold Moment is looking a great value buy.

Should she win at stakes level her value would immediately jump to about $300,000.
