Classy mare La Chasseuse made it a double from two runners for Danny O'Brien and jockey Jamie Mott at Flemington this afternoon.

Earlier the pair had won with impressive first starter Viallico.

Going to the lead at the 400m, La Chasseuse ($2.70-$3.20-$2.70F) held off a challenge from Western Australian raider Dane's Mystery at the 200m mark, before winning by a length from late closer Apple Lode ($5.00-$8.00) which beat Monahan Tweed ($9.50-$13) by a half head into third place.

Dane's Mystery weakened into fourth place.

O'Brien's Assistant Trainer Gino Mata paid tribute to Mott who has twice come back to racing after increasing weight limited his opportunities.

"For him to come back after two enforced layoffs is testament to his work ethic now", Mata said.

"Its a good opportunity for him to re-entrench himself with us with Steven Arnold and James Winks away."

Mott was beaming from ear to ear after his second win for the day.

"I thought that she was my best ride of the day", he said.

"She sits on a hot speed and still finds and she's done that again today."

"She's got a funny stride and she changed action a few times in the run."

"She really put in and won well."

"She belongs here", said O'Brien's Assistant Trainer Gino Mata of La Chasseuse which has now won twice and placed second twice from only 4 runs at Flemington.

"That's the distance she excels at."

As with Viallico, the O'Brien stable will keep La Chasseuse going against the weaker opposition at this time of year.

"It just depends on the weather", said Mata when asked where La Chasseuse will next race.

"We were fortunate enough today to get a Good 3."

"Two weeks later and we could be racing on a Heavy 8 and she doesn't handle that."
