Trainer David Hayes brought up an early double when his charges won the first two races at Gawler on Wednesday. Apprentice Ryan Plumb, who will complete his apprenticeship at Lindsay Park in a fortnight and intends staying in Adelaide for the immediate future, gave Hayes his first winner when he guided Bullion Mansion to a two and a half length win in to 1600 metre opening event. Sired by Encosta de Lago out of the Laranto mare La Volta and having her third race day outing Bullion Mansion $3.80 was always in the first two. Bullion Mansion beat the apprentice Amy Herrmann mount, the David Balfour prepared Specialisor, the $2.70 favourite. Another Hayes contender, the apprentice Kate Dyson ridden Rosegreen, the $4.20 favourite finished a farther two lengths away third. The win of the $2.60 public elect Paul Gatt mount Pindarci gave trainer David Hayes the second leg of a his double when two-year-old gelding was the half head winner of the second race which was contested over 1050 metres. A Pins gelding from the Grosvenor mare Pegarah, Pindarci was in a mid field position before getting to the front over the concluding stages and beating Kayeema Jay $3.50 for mentor Bill Bogarts and jockey Simon Price. A farther half-length away, filling the minor placing was Happy Ha Ha, also quoted at $3.50, for Dennis O'Leary and Dominic Tourneur. Apprentice Jordon Mallyon combined in the one and three quarter length win Laser Beam $3.50 with his master Jon O'Connor in the 1200 metre third race. Sired by the Golden Slipper winner of 1985 Rory's Jester and out of Scarlet Bisque, a Biscay mare, Laser Beam settled in second position before getting to the front in the straight where he went on to record a win over the David Hayes mentored Ryan Plumb piloted No Fix Address $6. Another David Hayes runner Swoop and Destroy, the $2 favourite, was a half-length away third with Paul Gatt in the saddle. The former South Australian based sire Centre Stalls, who stood at Willow Grove Stud at Woodside until last year, was the winning stallion of the 1400 metre fourth race when the four-year-old mare Star Of The Stalls was declared the three length winner. Being out of the Stargazer mare Picalilli Star, Star Of The Stalls $2.80 was well placed and defeated Kels $9 for mentor Kym Healy and jockey Jason Lyon. A length away third was Invincible Dancer $3 for Roslyn Day and Jordon Mallyon. The one and a half length win of the $4.20 chance Sedbergh in the 1600 metre fifth race gave the gelding's sire Centre Stalls a double in back to back races. Being out of the dam Primp, a Caledonian Planet mare, and prepared by Ken Sweeney who had Matthew Neilson ride his charge, Sedbergh came from the middle of the field and beat Split'n'hit $2.70 for trainer Peter Blanch and rider Amy Herrmann. A farther two and a quarter lengths away filling the minor placing was Nicomachus $6 for local trainer Jason Coe and Jordon Mallyon. The local stables of Gary Searle and Eric Rayner supplied the quinella in the 1200 metre sixth event when the Jason Lyon mount Just A Giggle $4 had a one and a quarter length advantage over the apprentice Tillie Neve steered Delta Devil $20 when the judge was reached. A five-year-old Happy Giggle gelding from the Amen Brother mare Amenique, Just A Giggle settled second and continued in a forward position going on to beat Delta Devil. Another one and a quarter lengths away third was Bathamore $7 for Tom Dabernig and Simon Price. Being returned at $3.50 Lamoretta was the one and three quarter length winner of 1050 metre seventh race for trainer Bill Papazaharoudakis and jockey Chad Lever. The five-year-old daughter of the United States bred stallion Lujain from Tory Mix, a Westminster mare, Lamoretta was always handy to the lead and beat Kel's Bel the $2.20 favourite for mentor Jon O'Connor and rider Ben Claridge. Another neck away filling the minor placing was Emseven $26 for Ken Sweeney and Matthew Neilson. Supporters of the $2-50 favourite My Silverado left the course on a high note when the Daryl Stone trained Jeffrey Maund ridden Bellotto gelding from the Pride of Kalina mare The Ash Flash won the final event of 1400 metres. Racing well back My Silverado was not sighted until well into the straight and powered home to beat Nangkita Law $3-80 for David Jolly and his apprentice Claudia Lions. A farther three-quarters of a length away filling the minor placing was Karimabad $26 for Paul Sandford and Jordan Mallyon.
