Outstanding mare Amelia's Dream has suffered what may be a career-ending injury during an exhibition gallop at Rosehill, her first public appearance for almost 18 months.

Just half an hour after completing what appeared to be a solid workout with stablemate Common Objective, Amelia's Dream was examined and found to have heat in her near foreleg, the same leg she injured in the 2008 Silver Slipper.

"She is sore in her near foreleg and it doesn't look good," trainer Gai Waterhouse said.

"We won't know more until the leg is scanned and we are hoping it is just her foot but these things are never good.

"She is back at the Randwick Equine Centre.

"It's deja vu. I've just been on the phone to her owner and now I have to tell him this."

Amelia's Dream has had just two race starts, winning her first in March last year by more than nine lengths.

Her second start in the Silver Slipper was equally impressive and she was the favourite for the 2008 Golden Slipper for a couple of hours.

But she was subsequently found to have fractured a sesamoid and had completed a long rehabilitation before Saturday's incident.

Waterhouse had happier news with AJC Sires' Produce winner Manhattan Rain completing a workout with Seventh Reason in stylish fashion.

"He will trial next week and then we will map out his program," she said.

"He could be anything.

"The Caulfield Guineas, all those big races, are there for him."
