Sparkling SatineHong Kong based Brett Prebble brought Sparkling Satine home a winner in the second leg of the 3 race Cathay Pacific Super8 Jockeys Challenge at Moonee Valley tonight after Australian jockey Damien Oliver had won the first leg.

The innovative series pitted four of the best Melbourne jockeys, Oliver, Newitt, Williams and Dunn against Hong Kong's Prebble, Olivier Doleuze, Douglas Whyte and Howard Cheng.

Prebble rode a near perfect race on Sparkling Satine, being in fourth position early and moving to second on the turn outside Craig Williams' mount Partiva.

Sparkling SatineSparkling Satine ($4.20-$4.60-$4.20F) soon put paid to Partiva and Prebble steered her to the line 1½ lengths clear of dead heaters Running Riot ($3.50-$4.60) and Belleza Veloz ($5.50-$6.50).

Despite a slow early pace, Prebble was able to get Sparkling Satine going kindly behind the Glen Boss ridden Tascher.

"She relaxed really good and didn't pull", he said.

"She breathed well in the mid-section and then I asked her to pick up the tempo from the 500."

Sparkling Satine"She got into her rhythm and really outstayed them over the mile."

After a first up win at Caulfield in late August, Sparkling Satine was seventh in the Stocks Stakes last start at Moonee Valley.

"She was a bit unlucky last start in a harder race on a very firm track that day and tonight in her grade and a soft track was ideal", said Gerard Teserero, foreman for winning trainer Danny O'Brien.

"A ten out of ten ride from Brett and probably a godsend that we got allocated Brett in the jockey's series."

Teserero pointed out that Sparkling Satine was much improved since she was last in work.

"She's really come along since her last prep", he said.

Return To Scale"She's so consistent and honest."

"You couldn't ask for a better type of mare at this time of year."

Sparkling Satine has had several attempts at stakes grade with little success so far. However the O'Brien stable is still hopeful that she will improve her breeding potential
before the end of the year.

"We're probably looking towards the Tesio here on Cox Plate day", Teserero said when asked about plans for the O'Reilly mare.

"We'll have another run in between that but that's our aim this Spring."
