The stars may have departed Flemington, but the great racing, entertainment and fashion remains in Victoria with the 2009 Spring Racing Carnival still continuing. The 50-day extravaganza, which takes in 89 race meetings across the breadth of Victoria, officially concludes on Wednesday, 18 November with the running of the sportsbet.com.au Ballarat Cup. Following is a snapshot of the key meetings still to feature in this year's Spring Racing Carnival; Wednesday, 11 November - Chatswood Stud Seymour Spring Classic Day Spring racing in the country with the running of the Listed $100,000 Chatswood Stud Seymour Spring Classic over 2000m. With fine weather forecast it's a great opportunity to enjoy a day's racing in the sun. Friday, 13 November - Moonee Valley Night Racing Victoria's night racing circuit hits overdrive with the first of five Friday nights to be run at Moonee Valley between now and Christmas. Enjoy a balmy night under the stars as you take in an action packed card of thoroughbred racing. Saturday, 14 November - TMB Printing Sandown Classic Day The final metropolitan meeting of the Spring Racing Carnival is always a beauty with the Sandown Classic and Sandown Guineas headlining a terrific nine race card. Off the track there's Fashions on the Field, TVN identity Richard Callander singing the national anthem and Spring Spruiker, Tommy Little, skydiving into Betfair Park, Sandown. Saturday, 14 November - Betfair Dunkeld Races Its country Victoria's biggest non-TAB meeting with a huge crowd set to gather at the iconic racetrack nestled at the foot of the Grampians. Feature event is the Royal Mail Hotel William Thomson Dunkeld Cup, plus there's an array of kids activities, live music and entertainment. Saturday, 14 November - Rotary Young Carers Raceday @ Mornington Gather the family for a relaxing day's racing just a short drive from Melbourne. With warm weather awaiting visitors it's a great excuse to make a weekend of it in the thriving seaside location. Sunday, 15 November - Myer Ladies Luncheon & Thirsty Camel Raceday @ Geelong It's one of the final opportunities for the ladies to impress in the fashion stakes at this year's carnival, whilst enjoying the fabulous Myer Ladies Luncheon. On the track there's three Country Showcase races which means an afternoon of quality racing is assured. Sunday, 15 November - Donald Cup The Wimmera comes alive for the running of the Donald Cup - one of more than 20 regional cups to have been showcased throughout the carnival. Wednesday, 18 November - sportsbet.com.au Ballarat Cup The curtain is officially drawn on the 2009 Spring Racing Carnival with the running of the sportsbet.com.au Ballarat Cup. Those headed trackside can enter Fashions on the Field and enjoy live music whilst taking in the Listed $130,000 Ballarat Cup.
