Jockey Chad Lever his second first race winner in seven days at Morphettville on Saturday when he guided the Craig Curtis trained Storm Brewing to a long neck win in the 1600 metre opening event on Saturday. Starting the $2.70 favourite the Desert Sun three year old gelding Storm Brewing, from the Mystery Storm mare In a Teacup, settled in the middle of the field before going on to beat the Mark Minervini cared for Adrian Patterson ridden Miss Regent $5. A farther two lengths away third was Perfect Crown for Ken Sweeny and Matthew Neilson. Craig Curtis said after Storm Brewing win that he is hoping he will be a SA Derby contender next May. The all lime green colours of I'm Discreet were first past the post in the 1050 metre second race and gave Chad Lever the middle leg of a treble. Being under the care of Richard Jolly and starting the $1.35 public elect the Elusive Quality filly from the Euclase mare She's Discreet, I'm Discreet led all the way to record a two length win over the Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas trained Clare Lindop ridden Super Tuesday. Another one and three quarter lengths away third was Real Reda $4.80 for Phillip Stokes and Ben Claridge. The progeny of the American bred stallion Air de France from the Kinjite mare Deep Time, Atlantic Air was three quarters of a length winner of race three which was run over 2500 metres. A $3-80 chance at barrier rise the John Croucher trained Dean Holland ridden Atlantic Air was an all the way winner and beat the Kylie Huxtable mentored Adrian Patterson ridden Naughty Boy, the $3 punter's choice. A farther three and a half length away third was You Beautiful Doll $3-10 for David Hayes and Paul Gatt. Favourite supporters were happy with the win of the $2 punter's choice French Secret in the 1600 metre fourth race. Being under the care of Mark Kavanagh and having the services of apprentice Libby Hopwood the French Deputy sired French Secret, from the Machiavellian mare Anigma, came from nearly last to beat Orchestra Stalls $4 for trainer Chris Oxlade and rider Dean Holland. The combination of trainers Bill and Simon Wilde and jockey Clare Lindop were seen in the minor placegetter stall after French Breeze $9 was another half length away third. Chad Lever equalled his last week's winning performance when he rode his third winner for the day Utility $12 who scored a long neck win in the 1200 metres fifth event for visiting Darwin trainer Stephen Brown. From the Nassipour mare Pleasure and sired by Flying Spur, Utility came from well back and beat the $2.20 favourite Ooleo for the co- training partnership of Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas who had Clare Lindop ride their charge. Bondarchuk $6-50 was a farther head away third for Phillip Stokes and Ben Claridge. Provincial trainer Greg Lesnikowski and jockey Michael Hoppo combined their efforts in the nose win of Uli Urs Utz in race six which was run 1200 metres. A Blevic sired four year old gelding out of the Zabaleta matron Soliciteuse, Uli Urs Utz was always in the first three and beat the Ken Sweeney prepared Dominic Tourneur ridden Bigbadbarry $20. A farther half neck away third was Vintage Comedy $5 for Phillip Stokes and Ben Claridge. After failing in Melbourne at his last start Tramuntana returned to local racing and scored a three quarters of a length win for trainer David Jolly and jockey Paul Gatt in the 1050 metre seventh race. Sired by the Irish horse Singspiel from the Success Express mare Hip Hop, Tramuntana was midfield in the early stages of the race before going on to beat Plumbago $41 for Brett Charry and Libby Hopwood. Another David Jolly runner Kiss the Cash $6 was a farther three quarters of a length away third with Claudia Lions in the saddle. David Jolly said after the event that Tramuntana will contest the 1200 metre City of Marion Handicap on December 12 before participating in the Christmas Handicap of 1400 metres on Boxing Day. The five year old Garry Kennewell trained Ryan Plumb ridden mare Ucetek was the four and a half length winner of the final event of 1800 metres. Starting at $3-80 Ucetek, a Kalanisi sired mare from the Rainbow Quest matron Dragnet, came with a strong finish to beat the Daniel Clarken trained Lauren Stojakovic ridden Noble Connection $9.
