Magic Sale A Week Away

Australia's most popular thoroughbred auction, the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, is a week away.

At 11am (Qld time) next Wednesday the first of 1236 yearlings catalogued for the 2010 auction will enter the famous Bundall sale ring and go under the hammer.

Some 200 of Australia's best yearling products will be up for grabs during the first of six sessions at the Gold Coast.

The sale will then continue through to session five on Sunday and then session six on Thursday, January 14.

The exclusive $4.6 million Magic Millions Raceday will be the focus of the country's racing action on Saturday (January 9) with 10 high class races being beamed to millions.

The Nine Network will join Sky Channel at the Gold Coast Turf Club to present from the famous race meeting.

This year's $2 million BMW Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m), Queensland's richest race, promises to be the best in history with the best credentialed field set to race.

The race for a place in the field has never been so tough with the current prizemoney cut off for the race being over $40,000.

Magic Millions Managing Director David Chester said the excitement was building at the Gold Coast as the 2010 carnival was just days away.

"It is always such an exciting time on the Gold Coast and where else would you want to be at this time of the year," Chester commented.

"Owners, trainers and horse enthusiasts all flock to our complex to find a horse to suit their needs and budget - as we say there is always something for everybody."

"And just who will be buying the 2011 Golden Slipper winner - this is one of the big questions as the Gold Coast is now the undisputed shopping ground for the winner of the world's richest juvenile race."

"It's not only winners of the Golden Slipper that are sold at the Gold Coast - we sell Oaks winners, Derby winners, Melbourne Cup winners - all of the great races."

"And buying a Group One winner or black type winner from Magic Millions is cheaper than from anyone else in Australia - the value at our sales is second to none."

Incorporated in the catalogue are hundreds of Sirecam preview clips as well as photographs of the yearlings set to go under the hammer.

"It's a great way of getting a taste of the great yearlings on offer prior to arriving at the Gold Coast," Chester said.
