Patinack Farm has confirmed the retirement of Group One winner Onemorenomore due to injury. The three-year-old damaged a carpal bone when he stumbled at Warwick Farm trackwork on Tuesday morning. The prognosis was that he could return to racing after 12 months of rehabilitation but Patinack principal Nathan Tinkler decided the best option was to retire him with a view to a stud career. "It's a devastating blow to us. He is a colt very close to my heart as he is the first Group One winner that we bought as a yearling," Tinkler said. "The horse looked absolutely magnificent and we had extremely high hopes for him in the autumn and to lose him to such an innocuous accident like this is a crushing blow to (trainer) John Thompson and all the team at Warwick Farm. "If there is a consolation it is that he will now be able to stand alongside his close relative Casino Prince at Patinack." Onemorenomore is a son of shuttle stallion Red Ransom who died in November from complications following abdominal surgery. Purchased by Patinack for $800,000 at the Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Onemorenomore was the most expensive yearling by Red Ransom sold at public auction in 2008.
