Patinack Farm advised on Wednesday evening that an injury forced retirement to its Group One winning colt Onemorenomore. Onemorenomore stumbled at Warwick Farm on Tuesday morning whilst trotting and went down on his knees. X-rays were taken on Wednesday revealing a damaged exterior carpal bone. Prognosis of a return to the races was good however the injury is estimated to require 12-months of rehabilitation before he could return to the races, so Patinack principal Nathan Tinkler made the decision to retire the three-year-old. "It's a devastating blow to us. He is a colt very close to my heart as he is the first Group 1 winner that we bought as a yearling," Tinkler explains. "The horse looked absolutely magnificent and we had extremely high hopes for him in the Autumn and to lose him to such an innocuous accident like this is a crushing blow to John Thompson and all the team at Warwick Farm. "If there is a consolation it is that he will now be able to stand alongside his close relative Casino Prince at Patinack. "If there is such a thing as a blue-blooded stallion prospect then this horse is it, especially with Red Ransom passing away earlier this year." Purchased by Patinack for $800,000 from the Cressfield draft at the 2008 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Onemorenomore was the most expensive sale yearling by Red Ransom in 2008. A half-brother to Listed winner Dr Green, Onemorenomore is out of the Group 3 winner Palia, a daughter of influential broodmare sire Last Tycoon (Ire) and a sister to Lady Capel, the dam of Group 1 winner Casino Prince, who provided Patinack Farm with its first Group 1 winner when he took out the 2008 AJC Chipping Norton Stakes after being purchased privately as a racing and stallion prospect. A Group 1 winner at two, Onemorenomore retires with earnings of $456,510. All of his 12 starts were in Group or Listed company. Pictures - Sportpix
