Brookwater is a 3 year old gelding by Hinchinbrook trained at Caulfield by Mick Price. Already a winner at Pakenham Brookwater is a city class horse and recently ran 4th at Flemington.
The colt is by second season stallion Hinchinbrook who was a top 2yo and won the Listed Canonbury Stakes and Group 3
Skyline Stakes as a juvenile. Hinchinbrook raced in the best of company and was fourth in the Golden Slipper and third in the Sires Produce later that year.
Hinchinbrook was bred to be a 2yo as he is by Champion stallion Fastnet Rock and is a half-brother to leading sire Snitzel.
The Dam of this colt is Cathie’s Lane who has had five progeny to race for five individual winners including the eight time winner and Listed race placed Kadena Lane and Destined To Be, a five time winner and listed race placed.
Cathie’s Lane comes from a great speed family that includes stakes winners Marwell Lady, Jestarella Boy and Firenza. Also this colt is related to Loveyamadly who we trained last year to win $319,338 with the highlight being victory in the Listed MVRC Adapt Abell Stakes.
