At the start ENTITLEMENT reared in the gates and lost considerable ground.
LUST NO MORE was slow away.

Just after the start REGATTA same out slightly and brushed CALHOUN.
From the 50 metres to the home turn CAMUS had a tendency to hang out.

RACE FIVE CLASS 2 HCP – 11OO M
From the 650 metres to the home turn LOADED VICE (NZ) and TOP SQUIRE bumped on several occasions trying to take the same run between ALTO EGO and CRAZY FITZ.
The club veterinary surgeon inspected NOT THIS TIME (NZ) on arrival at the course and notified stewards that the gelding was not fit to start. Acting on his advice stewards ordered the withdrawal of NOT THIS TIME (NZ) at 3.16pm.
Subsequent to the event stewards ordered all monies wagered on NOT THIS TIME (NZ) to be refunded and the following betting deductions. All monies wagered prior to the withdrawal of NOT THIS TIME (NZ) to be paid as follows:- for the win, face value of the ticket less 4 cents in the dollar. For the place, face value of the ticket less 6 cents in the dollar.
Stewards interviewed Mr Wayne Beaumont, acting stable foreman for trainer Mr S Brown about the circumstances involving the late scratching of NOT THIS TIME (NZ). Mr Beaumont said that the first he noticed something was wrong was when the horse refused to walk out of the truck on arrival at the course. He sought veterinary advice which was then conveyed to stewards. Stewards reminded Mr Beaumont of AR140(a) which requires trainers to report any condition or occurrence that may affect the running of a horse in a race to the stewards as soon as practicable. Stewards advised Mr Beaumont that although no action would be taken today however any further infraction of this rule would result in a penalty being imposed.

RACE SEVEN CLASS B HCP – 15OO M
As there were no other riders available, stewards permitted J Hallam to ride AUTRICITY at 1kg overweight.
Just after the start AURICITY and SUGAR SHOT bumped.
At about the 250 metres P Shiers, rider of STAR QUEST attempted a run on the inside of AUTRICITY. As the run closed quickly P Shiers took hold and ran to the outside losing considerable ground.

RACE NINE CLASS 3 HCP – 13OO M
As there were no other riders available, stewards permitted J Hallam to ride GRAND BEAVER at 1kg overweight.
At the 700 metres D Bates, rider of IF YOU SAY SO took hold behind SANCAY (C Moon) which rolled in.
Near the 500 metres P Shiers, rider of FLASH HENRY ran up onto the heels of PIERROT forcing P Shiers to take hold and change direction to the outside of PIERROT.
