Race 1 – 3yo CLASS B HCP - 1100 metres: Mr K Lamprecht, trainer of EMBOSSED was fined $50 for failing to produce a clearance for that gelding which last raced interstate (AR59B(b)). Acting on Mr Lamprecht’s assurance that EMBOSSED was clear of any embargo stewards permitted the gelding to race.
Near the 200 metres BLIX had a tendency to lay out on EMBOSSED, causing its rider P Denton to stop riding and straighten the gelding.
Mr S Clarke, trainer of EYE EYE SIR was fined $50 for nominating that gelding for this event when ineligible (AR64 (1)).

Race 2 –CLASS 4 - 1100 metres: At the start STUN GUN jumped awkwardly out onto OUR CAMBIDA.
Shortly after the start CALMER KARMA shifted in abruptly taking the running of LUSKIN DREAMS which in turn forced that gelding into OUR CAMBIDA.
At about the 1,050 metres STUN GUN began to race awkwardly and was pulled out of the race by that mare’s rider B Huppatz. Subsequent to the event B Huppatz reported that he thought the mare had broken down. The clubs veterinary surgeon inspected STUN GUN subsequent to the event and reported that the mare was lame in the near hind leg. Mr K Lamprecht, trainer of STUN GUN was notified that a veterinary certificate of soundness would be required before the mare raced again (AR8(t)).

Race 3 – CLASS 3 HCP - 1500 metres: As M Abe(a) was to be over his MRW, stewards permitted B Davis(a) to replace him as the rider of KING OF IRELAND. Stewards accepted his explanation as to his reason for being overweight.
In the back straight both DESERT PROSPECT and MY ADVICE hung inwards.

Race 4 – MAIDEN SET WEIGHTS - 1200 metres: Stewards interviewed D Bates, rider of WASN’T IT GOOD regarding the improved performance of this mare. D Bates stated that the blinkers had been taken off, a different bit had been used and chiropractic work had been used on the mare since it’s last run. Mrs L Williams, trainer of WASN’T IT GOOD stated that the change of gear had stopped the mare from hanging out and this had contributed to the improved performance.

Race 5 – OPEN HCP - 1200 metres: At the start ACELA jumped out into KISSING DOWN which then shifted out onto I DO THEE WED which in turn bumped FOR RORY.
The clubs veterinary surgeon inspected I DO THEE WED subsequent to the event and reported that the gelding was lame in the off fore leg.
