Stewards questioned B Davis (a), rider of GUNNEL, which performed below expectations. B Davis (a) stated that GUNNEL had overraced during the race.
The clubs veterinary surgeon inspected GUNNEL subsequent to the event and reported that the gelding had pulled up in an overheated and distressed state.

At the start MY ADVICE and GOLD HAWK came together for several strides and PECKJATA was slow into stride.
